2 Men Arrested: Catalytic Converter Thefts
One of the men is from Fremont, while the other lives in Oakland. Both were cited and released.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police arrested 2 men on suspicion of theft and drug charges. One was also arrested on suspicion of felony possession of stolen property. Police say the men stole catalytic converters from vehicles.
Police were called just after 3 a.m. Saturday by a witness who says the men broke into a fenced area at a business in the 41000 block of Albrae Street. The wirness said they began stealing from cars and trucks on the property.
Officers who took the men into custody seized stolen property, illegal drugs, and recently cut catalytic converters.

The men who were arrested have been identified as:

- Esteban Gil, 33, of Oakland, arrested on suspicion of felony possession of stolen property, misdemeanor theft, and various misdemeanor drug charges.
- Tuan Hoang, 37, of Fremont, arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor petty theft and drug possession.
Both men have several prior arrests for theft. They were cited and released at the scene.
Although the Judicial Council of California voted to the end the “zero bail” guidelines, the Alameda County Superior Court advised agencies that they had implemented their own version of the “zero bail” guidelines.
