4 Stabbed During 'Heavily Intoxicated' Fight In Fremont

The victims were hospitalized with injuries ranging from serious to life-threatening, police said.

FREMONT, CA — Four men were stabbed and seriously injured in a weekend altercation in Fremont, that possibly stemmed from an ongoing dispute and involved "heavily intoxicated" participants, according to authorities.

Officers, called at 1:10 a.m. Sunday to the 40000 block of Stockton Way, found and administered immediate treatment to four individuals, who were suffering severe stab wounds and lacerations, the Fremont Police Department said.

"The arriving officers immediately began to provide life-saving, field trauma care to the victims, which prevented them from bleeding out," the department said. "Medical personnel arrived shortly after."

The victims were transported to area hospitals with injuries deemed serious and life-threatening, the agency said. No current updates on their conditions were available, however, the individuals were stabilized by medical staff and expected to survive.

Detectives determined the stabbings were "likely the result of an ongoing dispute" that escalated as several of those involved "were heavily intoxicated and confronted another group of subjects who had arrived in a car," police said, adding that the brawl does not appear to be gang-related.

"An argument ensued, which then led to both sides arming themselves with weapons," police said. "Men from both parties were injured as a result of the fight."
