LIVERMORE, CA — Just as it feels like the coronavirus pandemic may boot Halloween fun from the 2020 calendar, take heart: Joan's Farm and Pumpkin Patch in Livermore plans to open for the season —although there will be changes.

The Mines Road cattle ranch, a family-friendly, fall destination since 1990, opens Oct. 3 to visitors, and will run its pumpkin-picking activities daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31, although closed on Mondays.

Missing this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, will be the hay and train rides, the large slide and obstacle course and gem-panning, operators said.
