7-Year-Old On Bicycle Hit, Killed, In Fremont

FREMONT, CA — A 7-year-old child riding a bicycle was hit by a vehicle and killed Friday afternoon, the Fremont Police Department said in a written statement released via Nixle.

The crash happened at 3:45 p.m. in the 43000 block of Montrose Avenue, not far from Fremont Boulevard, in the Irvington District.

Police say the driver waited at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Police and medical personnel gave the child first aid, but the youngster died after being transported to a hospital.

The names of people involved in the case have not been released.
