Who knew there was clay at Lake Elizabeth?

FREMONT, CA — Today's photo of the day comes from Jeff Cast, who is sharing his granddaughter Gloria's innovation.

"A few days ago, my granddaughter, Gloria, asked me if I have any kind of screen to remove rocks from clay," Jeff told Patch. "So, I found a very sturdy expanded steel house vent for her to use."

What Jeff didn't know at the time was that Gloria and her cousin Alecia were at Lake Elizabeth in Fremont and found some clay.

Gloria took the clay home, refined it and went to a local ceramic shop to make her own piece, Jeff said.

Pretty wonderful and amazing for a 14-year-old!" Jeff added.

Thanks for sharing Gloria's creation, Jeff!
