Manisha Pathak Meets with Muslim Community at USAMPAC Meet-and-Greet

Fremont, CA - Manisha Pathak, candidate for Fremont City Council District 4, joined members of the Muslim community for a warm and engaging meet-and-greet hosted by USAMPAC, where she discussed some of the most pressing challenges facing Fremont residents and shared her commitment to inclusive, community-centered leadership.

During the conversation, Pathak spoke about homelessness, public safety, housing affordability, and the need for local government to remain accessible and responsive to residents from every background.

“In a time when people are often divided over small differences, I want to be someone every community feels comfortable approaching,” Pathak said. “Whether we agree on every issue or not, residents should always feel that they can come to me, be heard, and be treated with respect.”

Pathak emphasized that if elected, she would work to be a strong and accessible voice for Muslim residents while representing them with the same commitment she brings to every resident in District 4.

“My responsibility as a councilmember would be to represent everyone fairly,” she said. “I want every family, every faith community, every neighborhood, and every resident to know that their concerns matter and that they have a place at the table.”

A central theme of the gathering was Pathak’s belief that diversity should be celebrated, not merely tolerated.

“Tolerance means we simply accept that differences exist. Celebration goes much further,” Pathak said. “It means recognizing that our different cultures, faiths, traditions, languages, and life experiences make Fremont stronger. Diversity should not be something we endure - it should be something we value, learn from, and take pride in.”

Pathak noted that Fremont’s strength comes from people of many backgrounds living, working, raising families, building businesses, volunteering, and contributing to the same community.

“When people feel respected and included, they are more willing to participate, volunteer, speak up, and help solve problems,” she said. “That is the kind of Fremont I want to help build - a city where people do not have to give up who they are in order to feel that they belong.”

Pathak also discussed the need for practical solutions to homelessness, stronger partnerships around public safety, and a balanced approach to housing that expands affordability while planning thoughtfully for infrastructure and quality of life.

The meet-and-greet concluded with an open exchange of ideas and a commitment to continued dialogue with members of the Muslim community and other diverse communities across Fremont.
