Drone Checks For Bodies Along Train Tracks
An ACE commuter train hit a vehicle in Fremont near the Bay, pushing the vehicle the length of more than 4 football fields.

FREMONT, CA — Rescuers used a drone equipped with an infrared camera to check for possible bodies along more than a quarter of a mile of train tracks Monday morning after an ACE commuter train struck a vehicle and pushed it before coming to a stop.
They determined that the driver, whose body was found in the vehicle, was the lone occupant.
The Fremont Fire Department was notified of the crash at 6:32 a.m. It happened between Stevenson Boulevard and Automall Parkway on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay.

According to the fire department, "Access to the vehicle was hampered by rough and flooded terrain. The vehicle was eventually located over a 1/4 mile from what could be the initial impact point. Crews had to make their way on foot with tools to free the driver."
Train traffic came to a standstill for more than two hours.
