DUI Checkpoint In Fremont This Weekend

FREMONT, CA — Just last Friday a Fremont traffic death was blamed on DUI.

Now, the police department is planning a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint. It is scheduled for this Sunday, Dec. 17, between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Drivers will be checked for alcohol or drug impairment.

This is the second announced checkpoint in the Tri-City this weekend. Union City has one scheduled on Friday night.

Funding for this checkpoint is provided to the Fremont Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, reminding everyone to continue to work together to bring an end to these tragedies.
