Facebook Expansion Underway In Fremont
The Ardenwood Office Park is transforming into a new Facebook campus.
FREMONT, CA — Renovations are underway at the Ardenwood Office Park in Fremont for a new mega-campus for Facebook. It is expected to have about one-million square feet of office space when the project is complete.
The campus will have enough room for thousands of employees — some who may transfer from Menlo Park, along with and new hires.
The company reportedly wants to cut down on commute times for employees. It will be a big money saver as drivers eliminate bridge tolls, along with saving gas.

Traffic is already one of the biggest complaints that Patch hears from Fremont residents. Mayor Lily Mei said in a statement, "We have been working with Facebook to strategically plan solutions rooted in both housing balance and increasing public transportation options. We welcome the opportunity to work with all businesses looking to expand, while acknowledging the need for careful planning to continue the quality of life."
Housing prices in the East Bay are also more affordable than on the Peninsula.
