Fremont Police Asking for Public's Help Finding Hit-And-Run Driver

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in tracking down a driver in a hit-and-run crash in Fremont that left a 27-year-old man with major injuries Monday morning. Police were dispatched to the intersection of Blacow Road and Garden Way at 8:51 a.m. to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

Officers found a 27-year-old man who’d suffered major injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene immediately after the crash, according to police. No witnesses have come forward and investigators do not have a description of the vehicle, but they believe it may have sustained damage to the passenger side from striking the pedestrian, according to police.

The Fremont Police Department’s traffic unit is asking members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to contact Officer J. Aranguren at (510) 790-6765.
