Fremont Police Shoot Suspect In Union City

A police pursuit from Fremont ended in a Union City cul-de-sac shooting.

UNION CITY, CA — Fremont Police officers shot and wounded a suspect in Union City Friday, following a pursuit of suspected robbers. No officers or bystanders were injured.

Union City Police are taking the lead in the investigation. They report that Fremont Police officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress at the Sephora store at Pacific Commons shopping center shortly before 7 p.m. As officers arrived, they spotted the suspect vehicle from the robbery and chased it.

The suspect vehicle drove into a cul de sac at the end of Balmoral Street in Union City, where the shooting happened. The man who was shot and a second suspect who was injured were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A third suspect in the vehicle was taken into custody.
