All Power Restored In Fremont
The 550 customers impacted by the power shutoff now have electricity during.
FREMONT, CA — Less than 24 hours after two small strips of Fremont lost power in PG&E's Public Safety Power Shutoff, all electricity has been restored, the Fremont Police Department announced via Nixle at 7:30 p.m.
The City monitored the power shutoff in the Emergency Operations Center. Workers watched as a small area stretching east from Mission Boulevard into Niles Canyon appeared on the PG&E outage map after midnight. Next came a small area along Vargas Road, just north of I-680.
A traffic signal at Mission Boulevard and Niles Canyon Road went down at 7:30 this morning, causing a traffic mess. Crews installed a backup battery system to get it up and running for the evening commute.

The Fremont Fire Department has staffed an additional wildland fire team, consisting of four firefighters, for rapid deployment throughout the county. In the East Bay fire, there have been fires in Moraga, Pittsburg, and Martinez, up in Contra Costa County.
For residents who had food spoil because of the power shutoff, you may file a claim with PG&E. Your homeowners insurance policy may also cover spoilage.
