Fremont Student Arrested For Making Online Violent Threats: Police

A replica gun with an extended magazine was located, according to the Fremont Police Department.

FREMONT, CA — A juvenile was arrested in Fremont Wednesday and a replica gun with an extended magazine was located, the Fremont Police Department reports.

Police were notified early Wednesday that a Fremont Unified School District student had made threats on social media to commit an act of violence against others on school grounds. Based on the threats, it was believed the juvenile had access to a firearm.

Police Investigators identified the juvenile and notified the School District. The suspect was taken in custody before school, and away from any school campuses.

School Resources Officers worked with FPD Investigators to ensure the safety of the students at various campuses.

The case is being reviewed by the Juvenile Justice Division of the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
