Hotel Homicide: 3 Tri-City Residents Cuffed In Man's Murder
The gunshot victim somehow made his way to the lobby, but police said actual crime scene was in Extended Stay America Fremont-Newark room.
FREMONT, CA – Three arrests were made Sunday in connection with the fatal shooting Saturday night of a man at a Fremont-Newark motel, according to police.
Officers responded at 11:34 p.m. to a reported shooting and a man with a gunshot wound in the lobby at the Extended Stay America Fremont-Newark, 5375 Farwell Place, the Fremont Police Department said.
Police found the victim, a 48-year-old Fremont resident, just outside the lobby, administered first aid until medics arrived, and although the man was taken to a trauma center, he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The three suspects arrested in Hayward connection with the homicide were: Luis McLaughlin, 34 of Newark; Robert Bettencourt, 30 of Fremont; and Leticia Hermosillo, 31, a Fremont resident, officials said.
The department did not disclose details of the arrests or the suspects' connection to the victim, also adding that the name of the homicide victim would not be released today.

Officers found a crime scene in a hotel room, and police said the crime appeared to be an isolated incident in which the victim and suspects knew each other.
Police noted that the last reported homicide in Fremont was in September 2015.
