How To Request A Vacation House Check From Fremont Police Department

FREMONT, CA — Are you heading out of town for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or just a getaway? The Fremont Police Department performs vacation house checks.

They are executed by FPD volunteers who check to see if there are any signs of entry. "Whether it is suspected criminal activity, water issues, or other concerns with the residence, our volunteers can then contact you if an issue is located so you are aware and can resolve the problem," the police department said in a social media post.

Request a vacation security check.

"The Fremont Police Department and the city do not assume any liability for your residence during specified dates," the department advises on its website. "Vacation/Security Checks are not to be used as a substitute for security measures. Volunteers do not go into backyards. Checks are front yard perimeter checks only and there is no guarantee that vacation checks will be done daily."
