Loaded Handgun Seized From Suspected Impaired Driver
A Union City police officer spotted the gun tucked in the driver's waistband.

UNION CITY, CA — Union City Police arrested a man who was carrying a loaded semiautomatic handgun tucked in his waistband. He arrested on suspicion of firearms violations and booked in jail.
K9 Officer Andrew Moya made the arrest during a traffic stop when he pulled over the driver believing that he was impaired. The vehicle was pulled over in the area of Carmen Way and Jean Drive.
This was Moya's sixth gun arrest in the last nine months.

Moya was also a recipient of the 2020 Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Award for his efforts removing impaired drivers from the road.
