Man Busted With Illegal Modified Guns, Marijuana In Fremont: PD
One of the guns was modified to switch to fully automatic, police said.
FREMONT, CA — A 25-year-old Oakland man was arrested in Fremont last month for allegedly possessing two illegal firearms, including one that was modified to switch to fully automatic, along with several loaded high-capacity magazines.
Kutufolo Laulea was contacted by a Fremont police officer on Feb. 21 while he was in a parked car in a parking lot at Warm Springs Boulevard and Brown Road, according to a statement from the Fremont Police Department on Sunday.
The officer searched Laulea's vehicle after allegedly seeing about a quarter pound of marijuana.

Two loaded firearms were allegedly found in the vehicle, including one that was unregistered, and another that had its serial number destroyed and had been modified with a switch making it capable of being fully automatic, which is illegal in California.
Several loaded high-capacity magazines were also allegedly found, including one that held 50 rounds, another that allegedly contained 31 rounds, one that held 22 rounds, and another that held 10 bullets, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Laulea was charged with six felonies related to the weapons, according to the police department.
