Spread Your Wings: Fremont Photo Of The Day

FREMONT, CA — I'm not a biologist, so I need everyone's help figuring this one out.

Today's photo of the day is of a moth or butterfly taken by Steve Wilson outside in the parking lot of the Ace Hardware store in Fremont.

While I'm keen to believe this is a butterfly, some of its features remind me of a moth, including its larger body and the way its wings are spread out wide. But the antennae and shape make me have doubts. What do you all think?

Either way, it is an amazing photo where the creature's colors really pop against the dark background.
