Motorcyclist Killed Near Auto Mall Parkway Identified

FREMONT, CA – A man who died after his motorcycle collided with a car Friday afternoon in Fremont has been identified as 58-year-old James Self, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.

Self, a Fremont resident, was traveling south on Christy Street near Auto Mall Parkway when the collision occurred shortly before 2:35 p.m., police said.

Investigators believe Self collided with a 2014 Toyota Corolla being driven by a 48-year-old man from Tracy.

The driver of the Toyota was not injured and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the collision, police said.
