Motorcyclist Who Died in Collision with Dump Truck Thursday Identified as Fremont Man

A motorcyclist who died on U.S. Highway 101 in Mountain View Thursday morning has been identified as Martin Hinsberg, 24 of Fremont, an official with the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office said. Hinsberg died in a collision with a dump truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded just before 9 a.m. to a report of the collision on the northbound side of Highway 101 just north of Ellis Street. Hinsberg was on a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle and died where the motorcycle and dump truck collided, according to the CHP. The collision did not injure the dump truck driver, CHP officials said. Three northbound lanes of the highway were closed for more than two hours and opened just after 11:30 a.m., according to the CHP.
