Multiple Crashes On I-880 Slow Morning Commute

FREMONT, CA — Drivers heading to work in the South Bay are stuck in stop-and-go traffic on southbound I-880, the result of multiple crashes.

The first one, at Dixon Landing Road at the border of Fremont and Milpitas, initially blocked all lanes of traffic at 6 a.m. The commute has never really recovered.

Traffic is very slow from Union City all the way to Milpitas.

The only smooth sailing from the connector with I-580 in San Leandro is a patch just past the San Mateo Bridge.
