
FREMONT, CA — A smoke detector awakened a Fremont resident just after midnight, allowing that person to safely escape flames that had broken out.
The Fremont Fire Department was called at 12:10 a.m. Monday, and responded to the fire in the 38000 block of Greenwich Circle. The response included four Engines, one Truck Company and two Battalion Chiefs.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 10 minutes.

There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire and a damage estimate are not yet available.

The American Red Cross responded and helped the homeowner with temporary housing.
