Pedestrian Dies of Injuries Following Wednesday's Crash

The victim died at the hospital. She was struck while crossing Mission Boulevard at Mission Cielo Avenue.

A woman struck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning near a Fremont high school died as a result of her injuries, according to police.

Fremont police responded at 10:47 a.m. that day to reports of a pedestrian being struck in the northbound lanes of Mission Boulevard at Mission Cielo Avenue near Mission San Jose High School, police said.

Police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said the female driver, a school resource officer, rendered aid to the victim and continued to provide care until paramedics arrived. Bosques said the pedestrian was not a student or a staff member of the school. She was taken to a trauma center in critical condition and later died.

The woman, who died in a Santa Clara County medical facility, has not yet been identified by the county’s medical examiner’s office.

Drugs and alcohol are not being considered factors in the crash.
