Identity Of Man Killed In Fremont Withheld

The crash happened late Tuesday night.

FREMONT, CA — A 33-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Fremont on Tuesday night, police said today.

The collision was reported at 10:05 p.m. in the area of Fremont Boulevard and Clough Avenue.

Officers arrived to find paramedics were already at the scene to treat the pedestrian, a Mountain View resident who was suffering from major injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The man's name is not yet being released by the Alameda County coroner's bureau.

The vehicle driver, a 53-year-old Fremont woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police have not determined if the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when he was struck. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision, according to police.

The fatal collision is the fifth on Fremont city streets this year, police said.
