Red Light Cameras and short Yellow Lights in Fremont

For those who think the yellow lights are set appropriately in Fremont: 
Let's take the extreme example....there are two 45 mph roadways in Fremont.  One has a 4.0 second yellow light and the other has a 5.0 second yellow light.  Guess which one has more red light violations.  Let's take a sample month for which we have good data, July 2012.  One camera spotted 275 potential violations and the other - only 65 potential violations.  At one location there were 4 times as many "bad" drivers who deserved the $500 lesson in how to drive better than the other.

There is no safety benefit by creating law breakers by keeping yellow lights at the minimums.
