Road Closures In Fremont This Weekend

FREMONT, CA — Get ready for some fun! But if you're not attending the festivities, get ready for detours!

The Fremont Police Department wants everyone to know in advance that detours will be in place in multiple locations this weekend.

The Hot August Niles Car Show will take place in the historic Niles District on Saturday, August 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Niles District Road Closures —

The following roads will be closed on Saturday starting at 6 a.m. and are expected to reopen by 5 p.m. :

• Niles Blvd - between “J” Street and “G” Street
• “H” Street - between Second Street and Niles Blvd
• “I” Street - between Second Street and Niles Blvd
• Iron Horse Lane - between “H” and “I” Streets.

The Festival of India, also known as the Festival of Globe or FOG, will take place at the Fremont Hall of Justice Parking Lot in Downtown Fremont. The two day Mela will take place on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Downtown Fremont Road Closure: The following road will be closed from Saturday, August 17 at 8:00 a.m. to Sunday August 18 at 10:00 p.m.

• Walnut Ave. – between Paseo Padre Parkway and Liberty Street in both directions.

According to the police department, the parade scheduled for Sunday has been canceled.
