Steve Basta is CEO of AlterG Inc. Steve has led AlterG through the evolution from a premier sports rehab business to a leader in Medical Rehabilitation, establishing the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill and more recently the AlterG Bionic Leg as a core part of the rehab program at over 2000 medical rehabilitation facilities. Steve has led emerging biopharmaceutical and medical device companies for over 20 years in a range of healthcare fields. From 2002 through 2010, Steve served as CEO of BioForm Medical, Inc, leading the company through the successful commercialization of Radiesse, the #3 worldwide dermal filler, and the creation of a worldwide direct commercial aesthetics organization with operations in 16 countries. Steve led BioForm through a successful initial public offering in 2007, and a $250 million acquisition by Merz, a privately held German pharmaceutical company in 2010. From February 2010 through September 2011, Steve served as the global business unit leader for Merz Aesthetics, Inc.
Prior to joining Bioform Medical, Steve served as President and CEO of Gliatech, Inc., VP Business Development and Chief Financial Officer of Creative BioMolecules, Inc., and Executive Director of Product Development for The Immune Response Corporation. Steve began his career in investment banking with Dillon, Read and Co. Inc.
Steve Basta holds a BA in BioMedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and received his Master of Management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.
About Fremont Chapter Director:
Shilpi is Co-Founder & COO of Kvantum, a marketing performance and attribution company, working with top CPG & Retail brands. Shilpi holds a M.S. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and MBA from UC Davis.
Shilpi spent 15+ years in strategic consulting, M&A and product development. While advising companies like Adobe, Microsoft, McAfee, Teradata. Shilpi built a foundation of what it takes to scale the operations globally and sell software as-a service. Shilpi has also helped various startups in building their operations ground up. Shilpi grew up in northern part of India close to Himalayan valley. She came to California in 2001 and it is her home away from home since then.
