Sunset At Lake Elizabeth: Photo Of The Day
The photographer says the "peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful sunset" inspired them to capture this photo.

FREMONT, CA — What is it about sunsets that makes us as humans stop to take in all the rays and colors just minutes before the sky turns dark?
Do we crave one last drop of vitamin C, or is it just the mesmerizing colors that make us like a crow is to shiny objects?
Either way, I could sit and stare at this image, captured by Kanik Kaur, a freshman at Mission San Jose High School, for hours.

She captured it a few years ago, but her feelings on what inspired the shot remain the same: "I was inspired to take this picture because it really captured the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful sunset of Lake Elizabeth," Kaur told Patch.
"I go to Lake Elizabeth often to go on walks with my family, as it is really calm and refreshing," Kaur said. "I also love seeing everyone having their own fun, whether it's by walking, running, biking, playing on the playground, or even throwing parties."

To me, this image reminds me of when I listen to Bad Bunny's "Otro atardecer" featuring The Marias — Another sunset. Gold and orange streaks of color shine down on the soft blues of the water and the dark contrast of vegetation in the background that is created by the light.
Thanks for sharing your photo with readers, Kaur!
