Tri-City Police Credit Alert Neighbor For Catching Car Thieves

A car stolen in one community was abandoned with stolen property taken during burglaries from two other communities, according to police.

Union City Police are crediting an alert neighbor with solving a car theft and several burglaries.

The resident spotted two males sitting in a car with paper license plates. The resident heeded the police department's frequent saying, "If you see something, say something" and called police.

Two police officers arrived and began talking with the pair. The driver suddenly started the car and sped off. The pair abandoned the car on Whipple, but officers apprehended the two.
