Upcoming Fremont Road Closures: Filming; Car Show; Burger & Brew Fest
May events throughout the city could cause traffic congestion on area roads - particularly if you don't know the wheres & whens.
FREMONT, CA — The Fremont Police Department is alerting local residents to three, upcoming events in May that could cause traffic-congestion frustrations with delays, road closures and parking restrictions.
On Thursday, May 12, filming activity, on an undisclosed project, is scheduled at several venues in the city, with rolling road closures planned, the agency said.
"While the rolling closures would last several minutes each time, please expect delays and plan accordingly,"police said.

The following locations will be affected:
Niles District 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.:

- Rolling road closures on Niles Boulevard between F and H streets;
- No parking on north side of Niles from 37270 Niles Blvd. to 37278 Niles Blvd.
- No parking on south side of Niles from 37417 Niles Blvd. to 37457 Niles Blvd.
During this time, motorists are asked to avoid Sullivan Underpass.
- Niles Plaza parking lots will remain open and accessible;
- Quarry Lakes Drive -10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.;
- Rolling road closures on Quarry Lakes Drive near Quarry Lakes Regional Park, Overacker Avenue 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
- Rolling road closures on Overacker Ave between Spetti Drive and Lloyd Ave.
The following roads in Niles District will be closed Sunday, May 15 from approximately 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., the department said.
- Niles Boulevard - between "J" and "G" streets;
- "H" Street - between Second Street and Niles;
- "I" Street - between Second and Niles;
- Iron Horse Lane - between "H" and "I" streets.
Parking lot closure: City parking lots next to Niles Plaza to be closed Saturday, May 14 from 7 p.m. to Sunday, May 15 at 5p.m.
On May 21 is the 2022 Burger and Brew Fest in downtown Fremont.
The following roads will be fully closed Saturday, May 21 from approximately 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Capitol Aveue between Liberty and State streets.
The Fremont PD reminded residents to be aware of surroundings, and report suspicious activity.
"If you see suspicious behavior or situations, do not confront the individuals involved, and call Fremont Police Department at (510) 790-6800, option 3, or TEXT-A-TIP: text 'TIP FREMONTPD' followed by your message to 888-777. In an emergency, please dial 911," the department said.
