Firefighters Use YouTube Video Of Mama Duck To Save Ducklings
With mama duck nowhere in sight, firefighters resorted to a YouTube video of another mama calling her ducklings.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — You know that old saying, "If it quacks like a duck?" Resourceful Alameda County Firefighters put that saying into practice Sunday as they rescued a pair of tiny ducklings who were trapped in a storm drain at the San Leandro Marina Inn.
Mama duck was no where in sight and those ducklings wanted nothing to do with their giant rescuers. The quick thinking firefighters accessed a video on YouTube of a mama duck calling her little fluffballs. As you can see, it worked like a charm.
But then the firefighters had two abandoned ducklings. They searched for nearly an hour before finding the mother duck and her other mini-mes. Now Mama has all 12 of her little ducklings again.
