Officials say the pause lets staff craft permanent zoning rules, while residents and regional leaders continue legal and political efforts to block the project.
   

• Oakland Becomes Latest City In Bay Area To Enact Moratorium On New Data Centers (claycord.com) — Oakland has temporarily halted new data center approvals for 45 days while it studies how their heavy energy and water use, noise, and emissions should be regulated. The move follows similar moratoriums in several Bay Area cities, including Gilroy, signaling that local leaders across the region are rethinking where and how these facilities can be built.
