Audubon Society's Annual Christmas Bird Count Starts Sunday

Upcoming sessions set for Morgan Hill, Watsonville and Santa Cruz County areas.

Birdwatchers will gather throughout the Bay Area starting Sunday for the Audubon Society’s 115th annual Christmas Bird Count.

The count, a nationwide event, will take place between Sunday and Jan. 5 at a variety of locations.

In the Bay Area, the Oakland count, scheduled for Sunday, is one of the largest in the region and last year was the fourth-largest in North America, according to organizers.
