Resource Fairs to Update and Assist Residents Impacted By Cuts on Social Services
Santa Clara County CalWORKs Employment Services staff is collaborating with local Workforce Investment agencies, Work2Future and NOVA, and other non-profit organizations to sponsor this resource fair.
While remaining budget discussions continue at the State level, cuts to CalWORKs have resulted in approximately $1.1 billion to be implemented no later than July 1, 2011. Santa Clara County Department of Employment and Benefit Services (DEBS) and community partners are proactively addressing the challenges and brainstorming on strategies to implement major statutory changes to the social services system.benefits immediately.
