Free Children’s Concert 'Sing. Play. Learn.' Coming To Gilroy Library

The performance, led by early childhood music specialist Kathy Reid-Naiman, puts playful spin on school readiness.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – Santa Clara County Library District invites families to “Sing. Play. Learn: Get Ready for School,” during a series of free concerts with celebrated children’s musician Kathy Reid-Naiman.

Part of SCCLD’s Every Child Ready to Read initiative, the free concerts focus on school readiness in young children while supporting the parent’s role as their child’s first teacher. The concert’s “Sing, Play, Learn” theme expands on the idea that children can benefit and learn an array of new skills through singing, playing, and talking; all important pre-reading skills needed before entering kindergarten.

Reid-Naiman’s distinctive folk music approach brings together children and adults, encouraging them to experience the joy of singing together in a playful manner, both at the concert as well as when they return home. Many of Reid-Naiman’s musical CDs are available for checkout at SCCLD libraries.
