Get Out in Gilroy: See You at the Parade
Go to the Gilroy Memorial Day parade on Monday, and don't forget the festival in nearby Morgan Hill.

Why Go: Gilroy's annual remembrance and celebration event for veterans will begin with a remembrance ceremony at St. Mary's Cemetery at 9 a.m. The parade will kick off at the train depot at 11 a.m., heading south on Monterey Street and west on Tenth Street to Gilroy High School. Head to Christmas Hill Park from 1–5 p.m. for a family fun day including music, food, face paint and a car show.

Why Go: In Morgan Hill, its mainstay crop, the mushroom is celebrated on Memorial Day weekend. They have been doing that for 32 years, and towns folks see no reason to stop now. It's a two-day festival that features live entertainment on two stages and much, much more. Oh, and don't forget the mushrooms!
