The March of Dimes walk/run, an art stroll and the opening of an art exhibit, a spaghetti feed and coffee with the mayor are our suggestions when it comes time to Get Out in Gilroy this weekend.

Why Go: Support the women's volleyball team at Gavilan College by attending the first of what will be an annual event. Spaghetti, of course, with wine, beer and raffle tickets also available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit the upcoming Gavilan College Womenβs Volleyball Season.

Why Go: Show your support for the March of Dimes, Β the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. Registration for the five-mile Gilroy walk is at 8 a.m. and the walk/run itself begins at 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Gilroy Downtown Association and several businesses from the downtown community have partnered with regional wineries for this yearβs Art & Wine stroll. Take a stroll through downtown and enjoy local wines, art, entertainment and shopping. Follow the link for a map: tickets are available at all participating businesses, and donβt forget your I.D.!

Why Go: This is the opening of the Art of Our Fathers exhibit, art work done by the parents of local residents. Don't miss today's opening, but if you can't make it, the exhibit will be open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. every day through June 19.
