New Library Resource 'Ready Rosie' Is Invaluable If You Have Little Ones

The online, free parent-teaching tool is available to Gilroy residents with Santa Clara County library cards!

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – Ready Rosie, Santa Clara County Library District’s newest online resource, is now available for free to all parents, caregivers and educators with a SCCLD library card or access to a SCCLD Library.

Providing early education tips, resources and insights, Ready Rosie offers invaluable information that can help adults as they teach children new things through simple and easy strategies. Information found on Ready Rosie is available in both English and Spanish.

“We are so excited to offer Ready Rosie at SCCLD," said Jennifer Weeks, manager of Children’s Library Services. "It’s almost as good as having your own personal Early Education professional at your fingertips! We already know how important the first five years are for a child."

By offering a variety of online resources for adults, Ready Rosie utilizes weekly informative two-minute videos, interactive activities and early education insights to help turn everyday activities into meaningful interactions and learning opportunities while helping to develop early literacy skills. Featured videos promote skills such as sorting, sequencing, motor skills and the building of vocabulary.

Access to Ready Rosie is easy: It can be used in the library or a person may register with a SCCLD library card to receive weekly text or email messages in both English and Spanish.

The Santa Clara County Library District includes two bookmobiles, an online library, seven community libraries and one branch library serving Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Saratoga and the unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County.
