Popular Pintello Comedy Theater Playwrights to Meet With Public Friday

Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten will visit the theater where their plays appeared.

Three popular Southern playwrights will greet Gilroy on Friday through a visit to Pintello Comedy Theater, where a number of their works have appeared.

Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten penned plays such asΒ Dixie Swim Club, performed in February, and Christmas Belles, performed in December 2009.

β€œWe’ve had several friendly phone calls from Jessie,” wrote Rod Pintello, director of the two plays. β€œThey’re looking forward to meeting the casts, hearing about our productions and posing for pictures. This personal touch is certainly part of their charm.” Β

During the play, the playwrights made several calls to the theater, checking if the actors were enjoying the showβ€”a personal touch that’s part of their charm, said Pintello.

Christmas Belles was a comedy of errors about a small-town Christmas pageant, and Dixie Swim Club centered on five women who became friends on their college swim team.

The meet-n-greet will occur open-house style from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at Pintello Comedy Theater. Make reservations at the theater phone line at 408-337-1599.
