Rotary Clubs host Lithium Battery Collection October 21!

Take Charge! Recycle Lithium-Ion Batteries Responsibly

LITHIUM BATTERIES are composed of metals such as cobalt, copper, nickel, and lithium.
These same metals are found in the batteries of smartphones, laptops, and electric vehicles.

The Problem:
There are limited avenues available for responsibly recycling these old products. This contributes to the fact that some of the largest lithium and cobalt mines in the Western Hemisphere can be found in junk drawers across America as people stockpile these products without proper information on safe disposal methods.

ABOUT THE DROPOFF COLLECTION:

Date: Saturday, October 21st, 2023 Time: 9 am -1 pm

Drop-off Locations:

1. Almond Elementary School - 550 Almond Ave., Los Altos
2. Westminster Presbyterian Church -1100 Shasta Ave., San Jose
3. Presentation High School - 2281 Plummer Ave., San Jose
4. Cubberley Community Center - 4120 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto
5. West Valley College (Center circle b Lot #5) - 14000 Fruitvale Ave., Saratoga

Popular Rechargeable Items to Bring:
- Cell Phones
- Electric Toothbrushes - Laptops
- Wireless Headphones - Tablets
- Power Tool Batteries

You may bring the entire item if removing the battery is challenging.

Any remaining data will be safeguarded and destroyed!
