Salinas Man Fatally Shot In Car While Listening To Music
One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a car shooting in Salinas Tuesday night, according to police.

SALINAS - One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a car shooting in Salinas Tuesday night, according to police.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Acosta Street and Machado Way around 9:00 p.m. on reports of a shooting victim.
Police said officers arrived and found one victim, identified as 27-year-old Marcos Jesus Martinez-Ruiz, seated in the driver's seat of a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim, a 21-year-old male, was found in the passenger seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds as well. He was transported to a local hospital where he was reported in stable but critical condition with life-threatening injuries, police said.
An investigation revealed the victims were sitting in their parked vehicle near their residence listening to music when a suspect vehicle drove up next to the victims and opened fire, according to police.

The two victims have no history with the Salinas Police Department, and there are no indications they were involved in any gang related activities.
Police said the suspect vehicle was described as a dark colored SUV or truck that fled the area heading either northbound on Machado Way or westbound on Acosta Street.
