Officers went the neighborhood in response to reports of shots fired and a "man with a gun," Gordon said.
"Shortly after arriving at the location, officers made contact with the suspect, who refused to follow the officers' commands," Gordon said. "The suspect pointed a handgun at an officer. Fearing for his life, the officer fired several rounds from his duty weapon at the suspect, striking the suspect at least once in the upper torso."
