Azusa Shooting Victim Identified: Unknown Gunman Remains At Large
A man fatally shot in Azusa on Wednesday was identified as a 30-year-old Azusa resident.

AZUSA, CA — A man who was fatally shot on Wednesday in an unincorporated area of the county outside Azusa was identified Thursday. 30-year-old Azusa resident, Paul Espinoza, died at the scene, according to coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
The unknown assailant remains at large according to local authorities.
The shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 17800 block of East Newburgh Street, Deputy Lisa Jansen of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.

"The victim ..., who lived with his mother, walked out of the house to the front yard," a sheriff's statement said. "His mother heard gunshots and moments later her son staggered back into the house and told her to call 911 because he had been shot."
Espinoza then collapsed onto a couch and died.
