To My Friends,
Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of the scariest moment of my life. With much prayer and the grace of our good Lord, He saw fit to protect and cherish my daughter to an extent that I can never fully repay. One of the ways that I am trying to "pay it forward” is to share my experience with others. Exposure of The Blankets of Love program is how I am trying to do it…
At the lowest moment of my life, with my daughter in horrific pain, I found myself in a hospital, surrounded by life’s most tragic situations, terminally sick children, a knock came at the door. It was a young intern pushing a cart full of hand made blankets. He proceeded to place one at the foot of Reagan’s bed saying, “This is for your daughter, we know she is going to do just fine.” It was confusing at the time. I didn’t understand, but there was a manila envelope with two letters in it. They explained everything and eventually transformed my life.

March 8, 2013 instantly changed from the worst day of my life to the day that I finally understood true compassion. It is my duty to share that experience and the subsequent letters that followed. We all have causes that are close to our hearts, but when giving your time and monies to those causes, I would hope that you remember the suffering children that never got to leave that hospital as mine did. Never stop praying for them and their families. I can never repay Dr. McComb, LA Children’s Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House and 1st grade teacher, Susie Gallegos of The Blankets of Love program.
I keep these documents stapled to my office wall. I read them once a week. My emotion forces me to share them with you, my friends, who I know kept our family’s plight close to their hearts. I can not thank you enough.
