Books 4 Babies - Teen parent literacy project

Sierra High School is celebrating their 8th year of this literacy project, raising funds from local individuals and community businesses in Glendora and Azusa to purchase books for the children of local teen parents.  The 5 schools involved are Sierra, Gladstone, Azusa, Whitcomb High Schools and CalSAFE teen parent program sponsored by LA County Office of Education. The program is sponsored by the GATE class (Gifted and Talented Education) at Sierra HS.  Please join us as we give a hand-painted tote bag  of infant and toddler books to each teen parent family, encouraging them to read to their children and help break the cycle of illiteracy in our communities. Light refreshments are served and donations to the project are always welcome!
