Dr. Richard Rams appointed student services VP at Citrus College
Richard Rams, Ed.D., is the new vice president of student services at Citrus College.
The Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Richard Rams, Ed.D., as the vice president of student services at its Jan. 19, 2021, board meeting. He will begin his new role on Feb. 3, 2021.
As vice president of student services, Dr. Rams will lead the division focused on providing a safe, positive and inclusive learning community for students. Student services areas include admissions and records; campus safety; counseling and advisement; EOPS, CARE and CalWORKs; financial aid; the Student Health Center; and the Veterans Success Center, among others.
"I wish to congratulate Dr. Rams on his appointment, and I am eager to work with him to advance student success at Citrus College," said Dr. Geraldine M. Perri, superintendent/president of Citrus College. "The entire Citrus College community will benefit enormously from Dr. Rams' leadership and experience."

Dr. Rams comes to Citrus College with more than 20 years of experience in student services and financial aid in higher education. Most recently, he was the dean of student support services, kinesiology and athletics at Cypress College. Some of his accomplishments at Cypress College included authoring the first comprehensive student services plan and establishing and monitoring the development of a food pantry and basic needs service. Prior to this role, Dr. Rams served as the director of financial aid and scholarships at Golden West College.

"Collaborating with our faculty and staff while elevating the voices of our students will be critical to promoting a responsive, caring and supportive learning environment."

Dr. Rams holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Kansas. He also earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration and Community College Leadership from the University of California, Irvine/California State University, Long Beach.
