Red Car Trolley presents "The Sound of Spirit"

Red Car Trolley tours musical vista points of faith.

Glendale, CA. [May 1, 2013] — Join vocal quartet Red Car Trolley on May 18, at 7:30 p.m. for their next stop, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glendale. The quartet’s concert will be the culmination of a two-day Festival of the Arts hosted by the Glendale parish. The program’s musical selections will look at spirituality in both sacred and secular selections. At times humorously bent, at times deeply contemplative, the program pulls from the music of many faiths to look at spiritual experience. It also showcases many original works by Southern Californian composers including Michal Connor, William V. Malpede, Dr. Alexandra Pierce, and a World Premiere piece by Dr. Robert Parker.

When asked about inviting the group to perform, St. Mark’s Music Director, Ron Barnett replied, “Red Car Trolley is one of the most versatile vocal quartets I have ever heard. Decades in the future, if there is any justice in the world, some one will say that a new vocal quartet reminds them of Red Car Trolley. They can literally sing anything and we are honored to have them cap off our Festival of the Arts at Saint Mark’s.”

The Saint Mark’s Festival of the Arts presents a broad range of artistic forms, such as music, drama, dance, poetry, painting, and film as well as a meditation garden, lectures, demonstrations, classes and keynote speaker Dr. Cecilia Gonzalez-Andrieu, author of the new critically acclaimed book Bridge to Wonder: Art as a Gospel of Beauty.

Events are free and open to everyone, adults and children, regardless of faith tradition.
