Hikers Missing Near Glendora Found Monday
A Halloween scare for 3 hikers missing over the weekend in the San Gabriel Mountains. When relatives arrived to pick them up no one came.

GLENDORA, CA — For the family of three missing hikers, it was a big Halloween scare. The trio of hikers entered the San Gabriel Mountains above Glendora for an extended hike but failed to appear at their scheduled pickup point.
"The men were hiking Sunday off San Gabriel Canyon Road (39) in the Angeles National Forest and arranged a meeting point for family at 7:30 p.m.," Sgt. Lyndon Dancel of the San Dimas Sheriff's Station said. "The relatives arrived at the meeting point and waited but didn't hear from the hikers."
Inclement weather in the mountains led authorities to begin their search for the missing hikers at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning.

"A search and rescue team began searching for the hikers in the darkness at about 1:20 a.m. Monday," he said. A sheriff's helicopter flew over the area where they were supposed to be hiking.

FOX11 reported that the men sent a text message that was received about 5:20 a.m., and after daybreak they walked to safety.
