• Gridley Advocate Presses County for Mental Health Support (gridleyherald.com) — A Gridley city councilmember is pressing Butte County leaders to maintain and expand mental health services for south county residents, warning that local outreach programs could be cut. He highlighted Gridley’s past high suicide rate, praised plans for a new clinic in town, and urged supervisors not to scale back services for farmworkers, children, seniors, and other vulnerable groups.
   

• County Approves Gridley Area Road Projects (gridleyherald.com) — Major bridge repairs and safety upgrades are coming to East Gridley Road and nearby south county routes, funded through California’s SB 1 transportation program. Butte County supervisors just approved nearly $9 million in 2026–27 RMRA funds, including scour repairs on the East Gridley Road bridge over the Feather River and several safety projects that won’t hit the county’s general fund.
   

• Council Frustrated Over Traffic Studies (gridleyherald.com) — Gridley’s City Council is seeking a federal Safe Streets grant to tackle dangerous intersections, school traffic near Wilson School, and blocked railroad crossings, but some members worry about endless studies. The proposal would fund planning, data collection, and temporary traffic-calming trials, while still allowing the city to make immediate safety fixes as needed.
