Beautiful Skin: From the Inside Out

Pick up a women’s magazine or watch certain TV channels geared to women, and you will see big ads for expensive beauty creams that promise to erase wrinkles and make us beautiful and young again.

But Kerry McClure, BS, RYT, CNC, Board Certified in Nutrition®, says what we put in our body is just as essential for a healthy glow as what we put on it. “Despite expensive creams, cleansers and lotions, if you are not feeding your skin from the inside out then our skin can lose that healthy natural glow. Your skin is a reflection of your inner being. Aside from lifestyle and genetics, what you eat plays a role in your skin health,” says Kerry.

“Even when blessed with naturally clear skin, if you fail to feed it the nutrients it needs from the inside out, your skin can look sallow and grey. By giving our skin the foods and nutrients it needs we can dramatically improve the look and feel of our largest organ,” she adds.

You can get the benefits of several  superfoods for your skin in an easy-to-make Salmon and Spinach Salad recipe from Kerry – see below.
